I'm getting really obsessed with doing paintings that are more than just simple pictures. This is my second puzzle type painting - I'm not sure if I will do any more but I'll see where it goes.

LOL, I've gotten a lot of comments about this one... what can I say, I wasn't trying to make any grand statement, it's just a fun piece featuring my kitty fairies. Yes, I am a big Escher fan. I really like the way this turned out but I think it would be nicer in a larger size (it's 3.5 x 2.5 inches).

Noblewoman with cats and Temari by Moussart

Kitty is dressed as a young Edo era Japanese upper-class lady. She is playing with a temari - a small ball made of scraps of fabric covered with silk embroidery. The sparrows on the screen were arranged to look like they're going after the ball too. Style is a cuted-up version of Ukiyoe.
